About Me

My favorite childhood poem was “Wynken, Blynken, and Nod” by Eugene Field. Little did I know at the time that I would be drawn to the sea throughout my life.

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod one night

Sailed off in a wooden shoe —

Sailed on a river of crystal light,

Into a sea of dew.

I’m a writer in love with the sea, sailing, travel and sketching. After a career as a newspaper reporter and editor and then in public relations, I divided my time between suburban Dallas and temporary lodgings in the Arkansas Ozarks, urban Chicago, historic and creative Santa Fe and crazy New Orleans. My restless soul now has taken me to a life at sea, and my home is on whichever Holland America “dam” ship is cruising to somewhere I want to visit.
